SYNOPSIS: At Ventura Mine, a routine day shatters when floodwaters trap three miners—Ben, near retirement; Digger, a capable but chauvinistic man; and Brenda, the only woman miner. Above ground, tensions flare between the Ray Martin, the mine Superintendent and a by-the-book safety inspector as rescue efforts drag on. Family, friends and reporters wait and pray as hope fades. Then a forbidden blast frees the trapped miners but costs Ray Martin his life. At his memorial, the miners speak of two miracles: the water that saved them, and the man who sacrificed everything to free them.
